Important: Planning checklist, not legal advice. Import rules change; verify the destination authority and carrier terms before shipping.
Checklist
- Use a specific English declaration and retain payment evidence.
- Treat the US$800 duty-free threshold as suspended: CBP's 24 June 2026 interim final rules require a customs entry and applicable duties for nearly all low-value parcels, except genuine gifts of US$100 or less.
- Confirm FDA, FCC, USDA, CPSC, or other agency requirements where relevant.
- Ask which U.S. carrier completes final delivery and how claims are filed.
- Avoid counterfeit goods and products that infringe U.S. intellectual-property rights.
