Agent Down or Warehouse Stuck? Verify First, Then Migrate

A China shopping agent is a third-party service that buys marketplace listings for you, receives them in a warehouse, and ships an international parcel after you approve photos and pay freight. When the agent site loads slowly, payment fails, or social posts claim a raid, the first job is not to panic-switch: it is to separate reported claims from verified facts, then decide what you can still move. A timed-out agent domain is a verify signal, not automatic proof the company is shut — and third-party "shut" pages can disagree with each other. This guide is for English-language buyers using Taobao / 1688 / Weidian-style workflows through an agent. It does not rank agents, and it does not cover restricted or counterfeit goods. China Proxy Buy does not sell overall rankings or paid placement in comparisons—always confirm fees and policies in the provider current written terms before you deposit.

1. Observed vs unverified — a five-minute checklist

Work top-down. Stop when you have enough to choose a path.

1. Official surface: Does the agent domain resolve? Does login, wallet, and warehouse UI load with your own account? Note the date and whether the apex domain timed out from your network.

2. Owner confirmation: Has the company posted a status notice on its own site, app, or verified support channel?

3. Independent corroboration: Are there multiple primary sources (not one recycled social clip) describing the same failure mode?

4. Scope: Is the issue payment rails, a single route, warehouse intake, or a full shutdown?

5. Time: Note the date you last verified each point. Rumors travel faster than updates.

Status note (last verified 2026-10-27): Mulebuy domain reachability

Third-party status pages disagree on how to label Mulebuy. Some boards still show Reported stuck-order or shutdown language with older verify dates; at least one third-party page now titles Mulebuy as shut and notes the site times out. We have not archived an owner confirmation that the company is permanently closed.

What we could verify on 2026-10-26 (reconfirmed 2026-10-27) from this editorial environment: https://mulebuy.com/ did not complete an HTTPS response within six seconds (timeout / no usable status). https://www.mulebuy.com/ responded with a 301 toward the apex host. That is a reachability signal, not proof of a legal shutdown, and it is not a reason to skip the checklist above for your account (login, wallet, warehouse, tickets).

How to use the conflict without panic:

  1. Re-run the five checks with your credentials and the agent's own channels on the day you act.
  2. Keep the label Reported for third-party "shut" copy until you see an owner notice or clear operational failure on your account (no login, no withdraw, no warehouse for a prolonged window).
  3. If the domain stays unreachable and your open orders are stuck, follow §2–§3: export listing URLs, payment proof, and warehouse photos, then migrate marketplace links with the link converter and shortlist workflow fit on compare — still no overall ranking.
  4. Pair with landed cost / second bill once you can buy again (FX markup and storage clocks still apply on the next agent).

Do not treat a third-party "shut" headline or a single timeout as permission to abandon card-dispute or ticket deadlines in the old agent's written terms.

Treat social raid posts as reported until owner confirmation or clear operational failure (dead domain, prolonged inability to withdraw or retrieve inventory) makes the risk concrete. False panic has happened before when brief downtime was framed as a shutdown.

2. What you can still recover

Marketplace listing URLs (Taobao / 1688 / Weidian): usually recoverable — save them now; they are not owned by the agent.

Finds / spreadsheets of links: usually recoverable — rebuild orders on a live agent via a link converter.

Unshipped warehouse stock already paid for: maybe — depends on warehouse access, returns windows, and support; document everything.

Balance in the agent wallet: maybe — prefer low idle balances; follow official withdrawal rules.

Parcels already handed to a carrier: track separately with the tracking number; agent downtime may not affect the carrier.

Action now: Export or screenshot every open order, warehouse photo set, payment receipt, and original listing URL before you change anything else.

3. Migrate marketplace links (not your agent account)

1. Collect original listing URLs from order history or your notes.

2. Paste each URL into a link converter (or the converter your next agent provides) so that agent can open the same listing.

3. Shortlist a live provider using Compare China Shopping Agents by workflow fit—fees, photo scope, storage, routes—not by a single best score.

4. Rehearse costs with the shipping calculator once you know dimensions and a current route quote. Chargeable weight (actual vs volumetric) often drives the second bill. See also actual weight vs volumetric weight.

5. Before you deposit, re-read the new agent written terms for FX, storage, returns, and claims.

If you need structured warehouse checks on a future order, use the QC inspection checklist so photo scope and timeboxes are explicit. For choosing a provider calmly, see how to choose a China shopping agent. After you can buy again, rehearse freight with landed cost / second bill and read photos before the clock runs with QC photos and the inspection window.

4. Payment and support evidence (generic, not legal advice)

Keep a folder with: order IDs, amounts, timestamps, and payment method references; warehouse photos and measurement notes; ticket numbers and full email/chat transcripts; any official status pages you relied on (with dates).

Raise measurable issues inside the windows stated in that agent terms. For card or wallet disputes, follow your payment provider process and deadlines. This site cannot predict outcomes.

5. Diversify operational risk

Parking an entire season budget in one warehouse increases blast radius if that provider fails.

Keep wallet balances lean; ship or return sooner rather than storing for months when terms allow; save original listing URLs outside the agent UI; prefer providers whose written policies you have actually read.

In buyers' words: "Can I move my warehouse items to another agent?"

Usually there is no one-click transfer between independent agents. What people call a warehouse transfer is normally one of three manual routes. Which one is available depends on the current agent's written rules and on whether its warehouse is still operating normally.

RouteHow it worksMain costs and risks
Domestic China shipment to the new agentThe current agent ships your items within China to the new agent's warehouse address, matched to a placeholder order you create thereDomestic freight plus any handling fee on both sides; the new warehouse may not match the parcel to you if the reference is missing
Return to seller and re-buyItems go back to the marketplace seller for refund; you re-order through the new agentReturn freight, seller deadlines, refund timing, item may sell out
Ship internationally from the current agentFinish the haul where it is, then use the new agent for future ordersOnly works if the current agent can still ship normally

Steps for a domestic transfer (verify each step with both agents before sending anything):

1. Confirm in writing that the current agent allows shipping warehouse items to a third-party China address, and what it charges.

2. Ask the new agent how it accepts inbound parcels that were not bought through it. Some agents ask you to create a placeholder or self-ship order with the tracking number; follow its exact instructions.

3. Put the identifier the new agent requires (member ID, order reference) on the domestic shipping label or in the remarks, so the parcel is matched to your account.

4. Photograph or save the current warehouse photos and item list before the parcel leaves; these are your evidence if something goes missing.

5. Track the domestic parcel and confirm arrival and fresh photos at the new warehouse before you pay any international freight.

For marketplace items you have not bought yet, skip the transfer: paste the original listing URL into the link converter and order through the new agent directly.

Check storage clocks on both sides. Free-storage periods differ by agent (figures between 90 and 180 days are often mentioned, but this is reported, not verified—read your agent's terms), and a transfer may restart or not restart that clock.

FAQ

Is a slow website proof the agent is shut down?

No. Treat it as a signal to verify login, warehouse, and owner notices before you conclude a shutdown.

Can I move warehouse stock to another agent automatically?

Usually not as a single button. You typically re-buy via marketplace links or negotiate returns/withdrawals under the current agent rules.

Should I trust a viral raid video?

Treat it as reported until primary confirmation exists. Check the agent own channels and whether your account functions.

What should I migrate first?

Original listing URLs and proof of payment/photos. Those unlock re-ordering and disputes.

Does China Proxy Buy recommend one agent after a shutdown?

No overall ranking. Use the compare table for trade-offs, then verify current terms yourself.

How do I transfer items from one shopping agent's warehouse to another?

Ask the current agent whether it will ship items to another China address, then follow the new agent's instructions for receiving outside parcels (often a placeholder or self-ship order with the tracking number). Expect domestic freight and handling fees, and confirm arrival photos before paying international shipping.

Will I lose my finds if I switch agents?

Not if you saved the original Taobao, Weidian or 1688 listing URLs. Those belong to the marketplace, not the agent; convert them with a link converter for the new agent.

Does the free storage period reset after a transfer?

It depends on the new agent's rules. Ask before you send the parcel and keep the answer in writing.

Does a timed-out agent website mean that agent is shut down?

No. A timeout or slow load is a signal to re-check login, wallet, warehouse, and the agent's own status channels. Third-party pages may label an agent "shut" while others still say Reported. Treat those labels as Reported until you have an owner notice or clear operational failure on your own account. Then export listing URLs and evidence before you migrate — this site does not rank replacement agents.
